If the merger between the airports of Olbia and Alghero were to reach the finish line, the Region would lose the right to be able to autonomously convene a shareholders' meeting to discuss topics of interest to it. In practice, one of its most important powers of direction and control of Sogeaal would be lost.

This is the main reason for challenging the merger resolutions, notified yesterday by the pool of lawyers appointed by the Giunta, but in the judicial battle that has just begun there is also another front, no less important: as is happening these days for the contested privatization of the Cagliari airport, even the wedding between Geasar and Sogeaal was not preceded by a public tender. And this, according to the lawyers, is a violation of the rules governing the assignment of airport management concessions. In short: for the two companies there would be the risk of seeing their concession, the "core business" of the activity, which represents the greatest value for the companies, revoked. On the other hand, on the integration of the airports in Northern Sardinia, Enac has already expressed itself clearly – against it, which has almost absolute powers in this field.
