Vineyards destroyed and horticultural production compromised. The Municipality of Soleminis has also decided to declare a state of natural disaster due to the damage caused to agricultural crops by the high temperatures recorded last July. The heat wave has caused considerable damage to wine production in some areas of the territory where there are some vines more sensitive to heat such as Vermentino. In Parteolla, between 20 and 24 July, record temperatures were recorded with peaks of 48 degrees in Donori . Days of anomalous and prolonged heat that put a strain on the resistance of the plants, blocking and, in many cases, irreparably compromising the ripening process of the grapes.

The situation is made even more difficult by the absence of an irrigation system in the area . In the last Financial Act, the Region allocated 8 million euros for the construction of the first lot of the Parteolla pipeline. Work should begin in 2024. Winemakers who have suffered damage are invited to report them on the Laore Agency website, which will prepare the procedures for the recognition of compensation by the Region and the Ministry.
