Everything blocked. The Italian railway network and, therefore, also that of the island, is deserted: trains stopped in stations, workers' arms folded for the national strike called by Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, Orsa Ferrovie and Fast Confsal.

Enormous inconvenience for those who have to reach the main centers of the island, especially out of necessity: the first trains from Cagliari to Sassari and Olbia have been guaranteed in return, but the consequences of Black Friday for Sardinian travelers are much more hard. All ashore from 9 to 17 and the adhesion of personnel on the island (and not only) has reached one hundred percent - the CGIL reports -.

"As the day goes on we will understand," they say from the national offices of Trenitalia. «For our part, we have warned travelers as much as possible, in all possible ways. Most of the travelers left in the stations are mainly tourists, at least in the big Italian cities. It is clear that, when there is a strike, this is the situation that arises».

The lack of connection via railway has caused the blockage of the roads in the direction of Cagliari, Sassari and Olbia, to mention the most important cities of the island. In particular, when entering the offices, the Carlo Felice, already interested in the works, had more consistent queues than the average. Hardships are also reported in Carbonia and Iglesias.

But the reasons for the strike, to summarize the reasons for the unions, "are greater than a few hours of collective hardship": the Confederates and other trade organizations denounce the worsening of the working conditions of both the railway workers and the employees of the contractors of cleaning and turn on the light on the increasingly frequent attacks.

«The strike», writes the general secretary of Filt CGIL Sardinia Arnaldo Boeddu in a note, «given the evasive responses from Trenitalia, was inevitable. In fact, in response to the request of the trade union organizations for a certain hiring plan in terms of numbers and times in such a way as to be able to restore a sufficient workforce to guarantee a rail transport service without having to resort to requests for overtime hours each time, the company keep on promising but never give a concrete signal» .

However, the protest is not limited to the shortage of personnel: "The further claims also focus on the relaunch of the rolling stock maintenance sector, on the relaunch of the sales and customer assistance sectors, a series and more modern reorganization of the administrative sector" , closes Boeddu. "Finally, we need an investment plan that will quickly relaunch the company after two years of the pandemic".
