Stop all trains in Sardinia on the morning of next Sunday, November 17, until 1:30 p.m. The reason is linked to technological interventions, which will lead to the installation of the most advanced system for the supervision and control of train distancing. It is part of the Sccm Modulare project and, Rfi communicates, « represents an important step forward in improving the reliability and regularity of the entire Sardinian railway system ».

The new system will be managed by the Central Post of Cagliari and will allow a significant reduction in network failures, as well as limiting interruptions and increasing the system's computing capacity for more efficient management of rail traffic. The overall investment is approximately 3 million euros : around one hundred workers and technicians from Rfi and other contractors will be involved.

The suspension of train service will start at midnight between Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th, with effects only on Sunday morning. All Regional trains will be cancelled and, to ensure continuity of service, Regionale has provided replacement buses . Trenitalia's purchasing channels have already been updated with the changes and service will resume regularly on Sunday afternoon.
