Discarded from work in Cagliari only because she is transgender. Martina Floris recounts her experience on social media, concluding with a bitter reflection: «I will probably never be a prostitute, because thank goodness there are so many places where this is not the spirit . But my thoughts today go to those who, brought in by closed doors in their faces (unjust because they are classist) have taken that path, forced ".

The episode dates back to the past few weeks. A friend suggested that she give it a try in the club in the center of Cagliari where she also works. Floris is hesitant: do they know she is transgender? Her friend reassures her: «Yes, yes, of course, don't worry», she tells her, «they know it and it's not a problem because they're all open-minded, you'll be fine».

So on the agreed day Floris shows up in the room and works «with the best smile». At the end of the shift everything seems to have gone well: «I liked them and they liked me».

But apparently it's all appearance. Because no one contacts her. After two weeks of silence she decides to ask the reasons for whoever put her in contact with the owners: «My friend reluctantly admits that I wasn't hired not because I didn't like her at work, but because she was a trans woman and therefore judged. In addition» he adds «that “complaints” have arrived from customers, so the owner has decided not to call me».

The sentiment can only be one of displeasure: "Another time, in 2023, the fear of losing customers due to injury was stronger than the need for capable personnel".
