The red bench symbol of the fight against violence against women was inaugurated this morning in Quartucciu, in Piazza Manzoni. The administration has thus decided to give an answer to the citizens who have for some time and repeatedly asked to install a symbol against a social scourge afflicting the country. Next to the red one, a white one has also been placed to remember, instead, all the victims of the road with the invitation, through a slogan, to protect one's life and that of others when we are driving.

They were created by two artists, Agnes Zimmermann and Luca Cocco, who offered their work by painting the benches which will become not just street furniture, but the vehicle of a strong message for everyone. Instead, it was the students of the Istituto Comprensivo di Quartucciu, in the presence of the mayor Pietro Pisu, some majority and opposition councilors who removed the curtain and inaugurated them. Also present were the social worker Benedetta Pili and the psychologist Elena Deriu, who together manage the women's counter in Quartucciu.

"The role played by young people in the initiative is fundamental, testifying to the precious contribution made by the new generations to this cause", said the deputy mayor Elisabetta Contini, expressing the thought of the group "Pietro Pisu mayor", "the installation is the symbol of the rejection of violence against women, and of the invitation to respect the highway code to protect the life of each of us. It takes on a further value precisely because these benches have been placed near a place of training and growth for many of our young people».
