Turn of the screw to counteract the phenomenon of uncontrolled decibels on the coast of Quartu.

As established in an ordinance signed in the evening by the mayor Graziano Milia from now on the music in front of the sea will turn off at midnight except on Fridays, Saturdays and the days before holidays, when the limit will move to one in the morning.

The mayor in recent days had announced the squeeze to counter the hourly overruns and excess noise : "The situation was there for all to see and it was clear that it could not go on like this, with the music blaring until first light of dawn - explains Milia - We had already mentioned this by asking for an assumption of responsibility from the managers of nightclubs and trying to find a way of meeting that would safeguard their interests but also those of the community, and above all the interests of protection of an extraordinary environmental asset such as that of the Poetto and the humid area behind it ".

"With this ordinance - continues the mayor - we are restoring order to disorder . We are continuing to give the opportunity to work, respecting the rules and safeguarding the environmental context. But we will not allow transgressions: the novelty is that the ordinance, besides to provide for the administrative sanction for non-compliance, was assumed by referring also to art. 650 of the penal code, which means that anyone who violates it will incur a crime, with all the consequences of the case. Poetto must be protected, so as the right of citizens to rest peacefully after a certain time ".
