«Unfortunately, we know very well the situation of the aggressive dogs in via S'Oru and Mari . But we must be given the tools to intervene. Now, absurdly, we can't: do we have to wait for them to tear a child to pieces? ». The mayor of Quartu, Graziano Milia, is furious. He saw the images of the two pit bulls that attacked and killed a small dog kept on a leash by the owner who, in desperation, was trying to chase them away ( THE VIDEO-CHOC ).

But at the moment the mayor's hands are tied . Even though he has known for some time in which context the episode occurred: "The owner has seven dogs in the garden: we cannot define it as an illegal kennel and we cannot intervene on this front" , continues the mayor. Now, however, there has been a lethal attack (and it seems it wasn't even the first): «We turned to the local health authority – explains Milia – and we were told that the administration cannot intervene until a person is attacked. Absurd, but that's how it is."

The video caused a stir and caused alarm: «At this point - concludes Milia - we cannot stand by and wait for the worst: we need to intervene, the ASL must tell us how . And quickly."
