The reorganization of parking spaces dedicated to people with disabilities has been completed. This is in line with the census conducted by the local police , which systematically monitored the reserved spaces , verifying their actual use in compliance with the Highway Code and acquiring updated information on those entitled to them, according to the regulation recently approved by the City Council.

The updated list of reserved parking spaces now includes 510 spaces for the compact city, 17 of which are new. The plan also includes 33 parking spaces along the Poetto seafront and another 31 along the rest of the coastline, beyond the Margine Rosso. Another 5 are distributed throughout the city along roads under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. Finally, 29 parking spaces were once reserved and were eliminated following the update.

"This project represents a necessary act towards a segment of our community that has the right to move around and access public spaces with full dignity," explains Elisabetta Atzori, Councilor for Mobility and Transport for the Municipality of Quartu. "This isn't just signage maintenance: it's part of a comprehensive rethink of the city in terms of accessibility and parking functionality, which this Administration is pursuing methodically and responsibly."

"The reorganization of parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities is part of a broader program to revise road signs throughout the municipality," continues Council member Milia. "This effort is giving the city a more rational and modern parking map: new generic parking spaces created where public space allows, loading and unloading areas more functional to the needs of commerce and urban logistics, and pink parking spaces, designed for pregnant women and parents with small children, which demonstrate how caring for mobility also means caring for people. With 510 parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities in the city center, 64 along the coast, and 5 on metropolitan roads, Quartu has an updated and functional map that will provide clear answers to both residents and visitors to our city."
