Over 180 malnourished and completely abandoned dogs. The kennel lager identified by the Carabinieri last August 4th in Flumini di Quartu has been cleared .
"A delicate operation, there is the desperation of the two ladies who occupy the building, there are very precarious hygienic-sanitary conditions, malnourished, frightened and aggressive dogs , the situation is very complicated and this is why our intervention was necessary", explains the commander of the Quartu Carabinieri Company Michele Cerri.
The eviction was coordinated by the municipal and health authorities of Quartu, and the ASL staff and the local police participated. To ensure a safe environment in a very difficult context, the Carabinieri from the Quartu, Burcei and Selargius stations also arrived.
The over 180 dogs were transferred to the Shardana in Dolianova and to the Dog Hotel in Capoterra, to receive treatment and be able to live in a healthier and safer environment .
The operations were carried out without any particularly serious incidents, despite the reluctance of the occupants to leave the building. The two women who ran the illegal kennel are a mother and daughter, they will be hosted in a facility . For one of them it was necessary, this morning during the eviction operations, to carry out compulsory health treatment .
