Nine lists, uniting diverse political groups and local movements, with some parties having renounced their symbols in favor of a project that Graziano Milia claims is civic: "The goal that unites the coalition is the city's interest; everyone's contribution is needed," the outgoing mayor said during the presentation of his team for the local elections on June 7th and 8th.

A public meeting was held today in a downtown venue, attended by representatives of the lists and some of the candidates. Among the ranks without party symbols is his list, Milia Mayor , along with Per Quartu , the Democratic Pact for Quartu , which brings together Democrats and representatives of civil society, the Movement for Flumini list, the Civic Movement , Avanti - the civic list of the PSI - Polo civico Uniti in Movimento , the Green Left-Ajó . And the Federalisti Autonomist Liberal Democrats, which also includes the Sardinian Christian Stevelli, his competitor in the 2020 municipal elections.

"I think we'll surpass 250 candidates," he says. "Someone mentioned a minestrone coalition. I think it's very healthy and delicious food, but I'm wary of those who promise Michelin-starred dinners but have empty credit cards. This means that when considering interventions the city needs, we must always start from the premise of sustainability, especially economic sustainability."
The key word, for Milia, is continuity. "We're building on what we've accomplished over the years, recognizing the need to continue the work we've done quickly because the overall context isn't ideal. We're enriching ourselves with other contributions, with new insights, including political ones, and this will allow us to consolidate the good things we've done and do even better."
On the agenda, if he wins and is confirmed as mayor, are housing policies, new urban planning, and the completion of major projects like the Fornaci Picci plant, to name a few of the priorities reiterated today by Milia.
