A former forestry worker dies after falling from a wall on Gologone, hitting his head.

He sat on the wall outside the little church of Pietà in Su Gologone .

Maybe he felt ill, or maybe he was simply distracted and lost his balance .

The death of Lussorio Massai, 67, a retired forestry worker , was undoubtedly a tragic accident. He fell this afternoon in the picturesque setting of the Su Gologone spring. He was sitting on the low wall just outside the small church he passes to reach the viewpoint above the springs when, for reasons yet to be investigated, he lost his balance and fell further down, falling several meters and hitting his head violently .

The Carabinieri and 118 were on site. Rescue efforts were in vain.
