In Quartu, a fire was put out during the night which attacked reeds, tall trees and scrub in the Santu Miali area late yesterday afternoon.
The fire also threatened some homes. The prompt intervention of the various teams of the Fire Brigade, the Forestry and the volunteers of the Nos of Quartu, of Masise, of the Vab, of the Gauf and of Settimo San Pietro, avoided the worst.
The damage to the environment remains. We are now trying to trace the cause of the fire with the smoke that remained visible for hours even from afar.
Again in Quartu and again during the night, another emergency occurred, due to a car on fire in Via Belgio.
The flames broke out in a car that had been parked for a few hours with the alarm raised by passing motorists.
The Carabinieri of the Company's mobile radio operations unit and the firefighters were on site and quickly contained and extinguished the fire.
Investigations are carried out by the police to trace the cause of the fire and to establish whether it was a malicious event or a short circuit.
