Hurricane Harry obliterated the small harbor where Pula's last fishermen were sheltering and destroyed two boats, but the overwhelming solidarity of business owners, the parish, and ordinary citizens immediately mobilized to help those who lost everything. The Vivi Pula association has launched a fundraiser to help the two professional fishermen who lost their boats in the violent storms that caused severe damage to the entire Nora area two weeks ago.

Ettore Caboni, vice president of the association that brings together the self-employed workers of Pula , explains the purpose of the petition: "We cannot remain indifferent to the plight of the two fishermen left without their main means of livelihood. This is why we have decided to join forces to also rebuild the small landing stage behind the archaeological site. Anyone can contribute, even with just a few euros."

Francesco Cossu, president of the Asd Beach Tennis Pula , was one of the first to see firsthand the devastation of Hurricane Harry on Nora: "We live on the beach all year round, and when we saw that the makeshift harbor that provides shelter to local fishermen was in such a state, we immediately made ourselves available. We hope that many will respond to these people's call for help."

The parish, as Father Marcello Loi explains, immediately mobilized for this worthy cause: "Last week, despite the cancellation of Domus Antigas, we still decided to organize the sweets fair. The proceeds from the sales—in addition to parish activities—will be donated to support fishermen. I believe that at certain times, everyone's solidarity is necessary."

Mario Mangano, the senior fisherman of Pula , estimates the damage suffered by the two colleagues: "I believe those two boats were worth a total of 50,000 euros. The hurricane completely destroyed them, and now the two colleagues can no longer work . Practically nothing remains of the small harbor where the local fishermen take shelter: it's a difficult time, but we'll bounce back as we always have."

Mayor Walter Cabasino explains that Pula is a very close-knit community, always ready to support those in need: "I believe there is nothing more noble than supporting those who have lost everything. This fundraiser demonstrates the great solidarity of the people of Pula. Two professional fishermen, who with their hard work managed to secure a living for their families, are now in dire straits: I am confident that the town will respond to this call."
