Vox's appeal against the suspension of Carles Puigdemont's extradition to Spain was rejected by the Court of Cassation. The request of the Spanish right-wing nationalist party concerned the decisions of the Sassari Court of Appeal pending the opinion of the European Court of Justice.

The judges had also rejected the civil action filed by Vox executives, excluding the party from the hearing.

The Supreme Court considered the memorandum presented by the lawyer of the former Catalan president, the lawyer Agostinangelo Marras, valid, consequently confirming what was decided by the Court of Appeal. Puigdemont was arrested on 23 September at Alghero airport on an international mandate solicited by the Spanish judicial authority. He was later released with suspended extradition.
