Another 50 prison police officers immediately in Sardinia. This was announced by Romina Mura, president of the Labor Commission of the Chamber, referring to what emerged from the hearing of the general director of personnel and resources of the Department of Penitentiary Administration Massimo Parisi.

"In the immediate future, the staff of the Penitentiary Police in Sardinia will be increased by about 50 agents, through a mobility plan adopted by the Dap and shared with the trade unions. The commitment has also been made - continues the Sardinian parliamentarian - to resolve the criticality that still affects seven out of ten prisons, without a director, and therefore a fundamental point of reference for organizing the work of the operators ".

Measures "appropriate but obviously still insufficient to remedy the serious situation of the penitentiary system of the island", Mura specifies.

He then recalled that during the hearing "the problematic conditions of prison health were also highlighted, which have worsened since it became part of the regional health system".

For this reason, "an intervention by the regional council is urgently needed to solve logistical and organizational problems that further aggravate the work within prisons, in particular as regards the treatment of inmates with psychiatric problems".
