The drum rolls are still resounding around the Regional Council. The memory of Wednesday's demonstration is fresh: they could soon be heard again - drums, banners and protesters - but with much more bellicose intentions than the celebration that marked the delivery of the 210,729 signatures of Pratobello 24. Dark clouds are therefore gathering over the Palace. The protest against wind and photovoltaic energy could move to phase two very soon: "Politics cannot ignore such a broad will". On the one hand, there are those who ask for patience, because the bureaucratic procedures of a proposed law require time. On the other, there are those who push for immediate action, with a demonstration in Cagliari soon. Because, "especially on the part of the majority", they did not like the "tones and attitudes".

The positions

There are several points of friction between the People of Pratobello and the Palace. The activists did not like the words of the governor Alessandra Todde. In short: «We are the legislators, Pratobello 24 will not have any shortcuts. Anyone who thinks of making a violent revolution on the basis of these issues will certainly not have my collaboration». To each his own task, in short. But, on the coordination front, they think the opposite way: «Now they want to make us pass for violent. I clearly and decisively reject the attempt made by the president Todde to combine the democratic exercise of collecting signatures for Pratobello 24 with violent practices that evidently do not belong to us», says Michele Zuddas, lawyer and supporter of the movements for Pratobello since the beginning. «The attempt to discredit the proposed law of popular initiative cannot pass through defamatory statements. The President should apologize to the signatories of Pratobello 24 and, when she speaks of violence or violent practices, clarify who and what she is referring to."

«Let's go to the square»

The fact that the Pratobello Law will not have shortcuts, despite the will of 211 thousand Sardinians, is an invitation to the streets for the committees. Not even the most conciliatory statements of the president of the assembly Piero Comandini were enough. During the hearing, addressing the group leaders, while excluding the possibility of including the Pratobello law on the agenda with an urgent procedure, he stated that in other circumstances the committees have managed to approve a bill in 15 days. "If it is not discussed immediately, we will return to the streets," says Davide Meloni, of the Uta committee. "First involving the individual communities, then in Cagliari. If what he said is true, we find ourselves facing an antidemocratic counterpart that has done everything, I am talking about Campo Largo, to wreck the collection of signatures."

«Be patient»

Pasquale Mereu, father of Pratobello 24, is trying to calm the most heated spirits: «There are technical times to respect for the proposal to pass to the commission», says the mayor of Orgosolo. «Tomorrow or Tuesday we should know something about the recount of the signatures. President Comandini then hoped that Pratobello could pass to the commission in 15 days. We will wait three weeks, then we will decide whether to return to the streets». To the center-right opposition, who have jumped en masse on the Pratobello 24 bandwagon, Mereu issues a warning: «They should produce facts in Parliament, trying to weaken the effects of the Draghi decree on the Island».
