New protest today at Portovesme srl , where the workers blocked the balance of the factory preventing the exit of trucks loaded with galena (the material that fed the lead plant).

This morning, after a meeting in the factory square, the workers on the march crossed part of the provincial road and headed, escorted by the police, to the balance.

Among the issues discussed in the meeting also what emerged during last Friday's summit convened by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy and in which the ministry illustrated the opportunities in the field for a competitive tariff. Requests that were not accepted by the company which instead asked for structural solutions.

The president of the Region Christian Solinas also took a position in these hours and underlined: «The Government and the Sardinian Region have done everything in their power to offer the company certainties and prospects. Now is no longer the time for postponements: Glencore must clarify and openly declare what its real intentions are with regard to the Portovesme and San Gavino plants. I therefore fully approve the Government's decision, announced by Undersecretary Bergamotto, to summon the shareholder to the Ministry».

For the governor, «it is unacceptable that in the presence of objectively favorable conditions for the resumption of production, those same conditions that have been accepted by other energy-intensive industrial realities, Portovesme srl continues to perch on outdated or surmountable arguments and not to assume, publicly , the responsibility to declare one's true intentions".
