Vast oily patches in the sea of "La Marinella", along the coast in front of the industrial area of Porto Torres, a few steps from the beach of the same name.

A long trail of foam, cloudy water, traces of oily substances, a suspicious stain that raises doubts about its origin and the terrible smell it gives off. That area, not far from the industrial port, had been paid attention to by the group of environmentalists, the voluntary association "We protect the Gulf of Asinara, established in 2011 following the accident on 11 January of the same year, of the terminal of the E.On power plant in Fiumesanto which resulted in the spillage of approximately 50 cubic meters of fuel oil into the sea.

In recent days, the president of the voluntary association, Giuseppe Alesso, raised the problem of the improper disposal of waste material from a construction site set up in La Marinella. The presence of drains whose nature is not known was also reported in the area.
