An award of merit . Indeed more. A recognition to those who, after having obtained their diploma , have demonstrated that they also have clear ideas about the professional path to pursue .

The recipient is Simone Pigliafreddo , a 19-year-old student who graduated from the “M.Paglietti” Nautical Technical Institute of Porto Torres, a goal achieved with an excellent result.

The "Nicola Parodi" scholarship has been donated for over 30 years now by the Rotary Club of Porto Torres , which wanted to reward a student who stood out for his ability to complete an excellent course of study .

The award ceremony was held in the hall of the Hotel Libyssonis, a convivial meeting organized by the president of the Turritan Rotary, Piero Tolu, who drew a brief portrait of Nicola Parodi, an electronic engineer from Portotorre who graduated from the Polytechnic of Turin, who passed away in 1993 at 38 years old.

A wish for the Pigliafreddo student also came from Pompilio Parodi, Nicola's son . «You will receive a scholarship that bears the name of my father who then decided to found the Rotary of Porto Torres», is Pompilio's message. «I want to share with you the day I received my first scholarship and Dr. Puggioni put his hand on my shoulder. Today I think that act is the symbol of Rotary: a shoulder always ready to support you."

Having only lived in the city for a few years, Simone Pigliafreddo has already identified his goal to pursue in his working career . In the next few days he will embark on the Grimaldi shipping company ship as deck officer for four months .

Satisfaction also on the part of the head teacher of Paglietti, Daniele Taras and of the teacher Giuseppe Carboni, Navigation Laboratory teacher who in 2009, as a Nautical student, received the Parodi Prize. Deputy mayor Simona Fois was also present at the ceremony. On this occasion, the Rotary club announced the entry into the club of a new member, Giovanni Arru, who was welcomed by everyone.
