A large green area on the square rock in front of the sea becomes off limits for safety reasons . The area, on the Porto Torres waterfront, facing the Piazza degli Eroi dell'Onda , has been cordoned off with a red and white ribbon by local police officers, who have ordered access prohibited due to the dangers posed by the wooden fence in front of the sea of the Gulf of Asinara , a few steps from the beaches of Renaredda and Scoglio Lungo.

The area has long been subject to coastal erosion phenomena , critical issues that affect the entire Turritana coast, in particular the area that extends from Balai to the Torre di Abbacurrente, one of the sections that will be the subject of safety interventions.

The goal is to consolidate the coastal areas and enhance the usability of the coast through new interventions that will be carried out thanks to regional funding of 1.6 million euros. The plan of works, developed by the municipal administration and positively evaluated by the regional department for Environmental Protection, includes works on the coast of Scogliolungo, Acque Dolci and in the initial stretch of the Balai promontory.
