A control service throughout the municipal territory , during nightlife hours, when the nightlife crowd goes wild and puts urban safety at risk.

The decentralized bargaining agreement , reached between the Municipality of Porto Torres and the local police unions, will allow for the establishment of a third evening shift , from 6 pm to midnight , which will see the municipal personnel involved in the control and prevention of anomalous behavior, in monitoring compliance with the mayoral ordinances on noise impact and, in particular, in avoiding the repetition of acts of vandalism and incivility.

In the field with two patrols made up of four or five officers for five days a week, concentrated on summer weekends, the local police will be present in the city centre and in the suburbs to guarantee safety and prompt intervention in case of suspicious situations .

In recent days, the agreement, already operational, was signed between the unions and municipal managers , an experimental project for the 2024 season, but which will come into force next year starting from June 10th and until September 10th. A shift beyond the ordinary time slot to ensure evening surveillance until midnight, to also guarantee safety on the streets, where motorbikes with children on board often ride undisturbed, becoming the nightmare of many residents.

The intensification of checks by the local police also responds to a need for citizen safety , a deterrent for those who, during the time slot from 8 pm onwards, felt free to break the rules despite the tranquility of the residents.

The security alarm was raised by the community, a comforting service in a city that has seen burned cars, dozens of acts of vandalism and petty crime, but also physical attacks and damage to public property.
