Paradoxical situation, and in some ways dramatic, for 30 specialized workers of Porto Torres, included in the regional "Lavoras" project and transferred from the municipal administration to Multiservizi, the in-house company of the institution.

Thirty fathers of families, all specialized, of excellent professionalism (carpenters, bricklayers, carpenters, electricians), have been working since August for 80 hours a month and receive a salary of about 400 euros (even less), with an hourly rate that is sometimes lower. at 5 euros per hour. They are used in all types of maintenance and many of them, in record time, for example, have made several city schools accessible before the start of the school year. But now the 30 workers from Porto Torres are on a war footing and are threatening to cross their arms.

"If it continues like this we will stop the construction sites - they say in chorus - We feel cheated. We all have considerable experience and ours is not a salary that allows us to have a dignified life. Some of us in the August paycheck received only 380 euro. Impossible to go on ".

Dejected Paolo, 61 years old, carpenter and historical worker of the industrial area of Porto Torres. "Our professionalism thrown away - he says - How can you live on 400 euros a month?".

Some workers, before the construction site, received citizenship income.

"I was earning more without doing anything - says one of them disconsolately, who wants to remain anonymous - In fact, with the citizenship income I earned over 500 euros a month. But the desire to work and be useful was great and I accepted with enthusiasm. So far, however, I have been screwed, like my colleagues ".

He is echoed by Franco, 53, a carpenter. "We have enthusiastically accepted this assignment - he explains - but the treatment they are reserving us is unworthy. May at least the municipal administration of Porto Torres increase the number of hours".

Davide, 45 years old, bricklayer, is also very combative. "The institutions now have to listen to us or we will stop immediately - he thunders - better nothing than to be treated like this". The contract for the 30 workers of Porto Torres will expire in April.
