Assault against a healthcare worker from the Avis ambulance in Porto Torres during an emergency service.

The episode occurred yesterday evening, around 6pm, in via Enrico Costa, when the Sassari 118 operations center requested immediate intervention for a woman in a state of agitation.

The patient, of foreign origins, was inside a parked car, in the company of a boy who raised the alarm.

Once on site the rescuers were first verbally attacked, then one of them was pulled and, between offensive words and shoves, she was injured in the arm.

In the throes of a crisis, the woman continued to get agitated and rail against the ambulance and the operators who, to avoid more serious consequences, contacted the police. The police therefore intervened on the spot.

The affair ultimately ended with a three-day prognosis for the rescuer, for whom the intervention of the Porto Torres medical guard was requested.

Once again the problem arises of the risk conditions suffered daily by the 118 operators, who ask to be able to work in peace to ensure all guarantees of operation for users.
