It came out of the freshly worked field, undermined by the plow while it was cutting furrows in one of the lands that line the path of the Platamona pine forest, in the area belonging to the municipality of Porto Torres.

An old bomb, about 40 centimeters long, was discovered near one of the many forts located in the area. A cannon ammunition probably dating back to World War II. The discovery took place this morning, when after midday Antonello Falchi, a passionate photographer of nature and landscapes, while he was intent on immortalizing the buzzards, birds of prey that hunt in open territories, saw something strange in the middle of the sparse vegetation. A war device caught his attention, so as soon as he realized it was a cannon bomb, he immediately alarmed the local carabinieri.

Arrived immediately on the spot, the military circumscribed the entire area and alerted the colleagues of the anti-sabotage bomb squad to remove and check if the device was still active. The operations of verification and possible defusing of the bomb are still in progress.
