Consultant Giancarlo Rosa and engineer Marco Antonio Pes have been entrusted with the unique technical investigations on the BMW SUV and cell phone of Vivian Spohr, the German manager - wife of Lufthansa president Carsten Spohr - who on the morning of July 8th hit and killed 24-year-old Gaia Costa from Tempio Pausania at the pedestrian crossing on Via Aga Khan in Porto Cervo.

The Tempio Pausania Public Prosecutor's Office has instructed the two consultants to analyze data extracted from the woman's phone and car, which were immediately seized after the accident. The woman is under investigation for road homicide.

All documents from the public prosecutor's file and those relating to the technical surveys carried out along the road by the Carabinieri of the Porto Cervo station, as well as footage from the video surveillance system of the Emerald Coast town area, will be examined by Rosa and Pes. The investigation is expected to last no more than twenty days and could shed light on the circumstances and causes of the fatal accident.

According to initial reconstructions, Gaia Costa, a babysitter in Porto Cervo, was struck while crossing a pedestrian crossing around 1:00 PM. Vivian Spohr, on vacation in Costa Smeralda with her family, left the island immediately after the accident and returned to Germany. Investigators reiterated that there were no grounds for detaining her: Vivian Spohr had submitted to toxicology tests, which came back negative, as well as a breathalyzer test, and had cooperated.

She was charged with vehicular homicide, but not aggravated, and was therefore able to return to her hometown, despite being under investigation. Both Vivian Spohr's defense attorneys, Angelo Merlini and Alessandro Vitale, and Antonello Desini, who is representing the victim's family, have appointed their respective legal advisors.
