Returning to one's family during the Christmas and New Year weeks is a real drain for non-residents of the island.

To reach Sardinia by plane or leave for Rome and Milan, they must be prepared to shell out even between 300 and 500 euros per person with Ita and Volotea , the two companies that provide the air territorial continuity service on Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate.

Fares for residents remain controlled, but for others the journey is very expensive, even in economy class. You can save by choosing days when prices are affordable, perhaps leaving before Christmas and returning in the week following New Year's with low cost, but not everyone can afford it .

In recent days the Region, Ita and Volotea have reached an agreement to avoid isolation, inserting new frequencies, +36 flights in this period of the year .

And December 27 is expected, the date by which the companies that want to win the exclusive routes between February 17 2023 and October 26 2024 will have to submit applications for the European tender .
