Bados, child dies after explosion on a camper. Parents hospitalized: dad has burns on 40% of his body
Drama on the beach, near Pittulongu. After the explosion, a fire broke out involving another vehicle where the little one was resting. Black smoke visible even from a distanceTragedy on the beach of Bados , near Pittulongu, between Olbia and Golfo Aranci.
From what we learn, a 10-year-old boy – Samuel Imbuzan, a resident of Rimini, with an Italian mother and a Romanian father – lost his life following an explosion in a camper, perhaps due to a gas leak.
After the explosion, a fire broke out, with black smoke visible even from a distance , which involved another camper parked nearby. The little one, who was perhaps sleeping , was right on board this second vehicle.
After the alarm, the carabinieri, local police of Olbia, 118, coast guard and civil protection intervened on the spot.
Also present was the mayor of Olbia, Settimo Nizzi: «The death of a child in such a dramatic way is one of the worst things that could happen in our area – he said -. We can only do our best to bring some support to people who have lost everything, we have already taken action with social services".
The parents of the child, injured and in shock, were transported to the hospital in Sassari. From what we learn, the father suffered burns on 40 percent of his body. For the little one, however, unfortunately there was nothing to do.
Firefighters and the forestry corps are also in action, with the help of a helicopter, to extinguish the flames that have reached the surrounding vegetation.
