New rules for eligible areas . The government is trying to close the loop and, to establish some boundaries, is choosing the new energy decree. The day before yesterday in Chia, Environment Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin stated that "the demands for wind power in Sardinia are due to a total liberalization that occurred in the past and which we are trying to stem, on the one hand with eligible areas, and on the other with certain mechanisms regarding the grid." He then announced: "We should close the system of eligible areas in the next few days."

The system will implement the EU Red II Directive, including with respect to distances from monuments. Generally, the buffer zone is determined by considering a distance from the perimeter of the protected assets of 3 kilometers for wind farms and 500 meters for photovoltaic plants , extendable up to 7 kilometers for particularly valuable assets.

The deadline

Meanwhile, on October 7th, the Constitutional Court will rule on the law for Sardinia's suitable areas. And in Rome, many decisions will be made regarding the fate of Sardinia's protection from wind and solar energy. The committees are returning from a meeting in Orgosolo, where they announced their return to the streets to defend Pratobello 24. Until October 7th, however, the wait-and-see approach remains: " A year has passed. But we are still here. Although regional politicians have ignored the 211,000 signatures collected , we are ready to relaunch a united fight to protect Sardinia from the largest speculative assault in its history of autonomy," says Luigi Pisci, spokesperson for the Sarcidano committee.
