He would have stolen or destroyed the books and other accounting records of Peoplefly Srl, before the small airline - then a company that organized flights - went bankrupt on 1 July 2021. Andrea Caldart, owner of the company, is on trial for documentary bankruptcy before the judges of the Second Criminal Section of the Court of Cagliari.
The hearing began yesterday morning: the accused was present in the courtroom with the defender, Ignazio Ballai, next to him. The hearing was then postponed to January 9th to hear the curator. Peoplefly had tried to penetrate the difficult market for air connections to and from Sardinia . The owner had organized flights that had also taken Cagliari away. But there had also been protests, with groups destined for religious destinations remaining stranded.
The bankruptcy court, chaired by Ignazio Tamponi, then hypothesized an accrued debt of over 2 million euros with the company Expo Italia 2015 Spa in liquidation, which had organized the gigantic Milanese event. Now criminal judges will have to understand whether there was a bankruptcy. The lawyer maintains that the accusations are unfounded.
