The mayor of Valledoria, Marco Muretti, has issued an ordinance prohibiting the use of mains water for direct human consumption.
The decision was taken following the note from the ASL of Sassari (Department of Prevention of the Food Hygiene and Nutrition Service) which underlines how the analyzes carried out on samples taken on 23 October by Sian staff revealed the non-compliance for the Trihalomethanes parameter.
«The ASL of Sassari - we read in the ordinance - has asked this body for a measure of "limitation in the food use of the water supplied" as a drink and for the preparation of food, but it can be used for all hygienic purposes , including personal hygiene."
