The abbreviated trial for the murder of Paolo Fonsatti , the former Army non-commissioned officer who in August 2021 was found lifeless in his home in S'Ungroni in Arborea, will open on December 22nd. His 56-year-old nephew Giancarlo , defended by the lawyer Carlo Figus, is called to answer for voluntary homicide.

The episode dates back to August 18 a year ago: the former non-commissioned officer was killed with seven stab wounds . Immediately the investigations focused on the nephew, only his fingerprints were found in the house, then the turning point with the arrest of Giancarlo (known as Renato) who was the first to raise the alarm. He had reported to the carabinieri that two criminals had entered the house, that there had been a scuffle and then the two allegedly killed his uncle .

A version that had not convinced the Carabinieri and had not even found evidence, then in the following hours there had been the admission of Giancarlo Fonsatti before the investigators to whom he had indicated the precise place where he had thrown the large knife used to strike his uncle (into the pond of Santa Giusta).

At the origin of the quarrel that later resulted in the murder there could be money, it seems that the nephew often asked his uncle to borrow money and had gambling addiction problems.
