Palla is dead. Farewell to the dog who symbolized rebirth.

The announcement was made by Monica Pais, founder of the Duemari veterinary clinic in Oristano and of the Effetto Palla Onlus association , who in recent days had reported the animal's illness, which had arrived with a face so deformed that it earned her a new name.

"This morning Palla took flight toward that fantastic hyperuranion from which she surely arrived 10 years ago," we read. "It left me dismayed and bewildered, because until last night, even though she was tired, she had eaten and welcomed me. As always, I had put her to bed, helping her walk and arranging her bed next to us and a fresh sheet, and I don't know what will remain of me now, sitting on this empty sofa, in this house and in this world of mine where everything is imbued with her."

The pain is profound: "She also gave me her death without us having to help her, without us having to push the narcotic into her veins. In my arms and in Paolo's strong ones. Home suddenly, without suffering."

Pais adds: "She died in her true Kingdom, that of my heart, of which she was and will remain the undisputed queen. My little Palla, how much you loved me and how much I loved you, my love, my tenderness."
