The patronal feast in honor of Our Lady of Grace and St. Joseph ended yesterday in Palau with the award ceremony of the XXIII edition of the Calapetralana poetry competition "Palau Junior" and with the concert of the "Summer Trio" group.

The day before there had been the cabaret show with Valentina Persia.

A "three days" curated in the organization by the Patronal Festivals Committee-Fidali 1978, which saw other concerts, shows, entertainment and various culinary moments. And of course the religious functions, which culminated yesterday evening with the solemn Mass and the Procession through the streets of the town.

For the occasion, the parish priest, Fr Paolo Pala, had invited Monsignor Rogatus Kimaryo, bishop of Same, in Tanzania. There is a reason for this presence and it is that the previous assistant pastor, Don Adolph (now in the neighboring La Maddalena), and the current one, Don John, come precisely from that diocese of Africa.

Bishop Kimaryo, in his homily, spoke of the importance of peace and the ongoing wars, focusing in particular on the one going on between the North and South of Sudan but also on the situation in Congo and other countries close to Tanzania.
