The number of positive West Nile virus cases in the province of Oristano has risen to 14. Today's diagnosis, following yesterday's , concerns a 76-year-old resident of Campidano. She is hospitalized in the medical ward of San Martino Hospital.

Following the investigation, the Department of Hygiene and Health Prevention, headed by Dr. Maria Valentina Marras, immediately implemented all the measures required for the case: an epidemiological investigation and the cordoning off of the woman's home to allow for more thorough disinfection within a 200-meter radius of her home .

In recent weeks, three more people over 70, six over 60, one over 40, two over 80, and one over 90 have tested positive for the virus. Of these 13 infected, 10 are still hospitalized in various hospitals , while the remainder have been discharged and returned home.
