Traces found on Via Carso clear up any doubts. The fire that destroyed a Ford Ka at dawn this morning was deliberately started. Someone evidently wanted to send a clear message to the 62-year-old, unemployed owner of the small car parked outside her home on the outskirts of Donigala Fenughedu. The Carabinieri are investigating the incident.

The alarm was raised around 5:00 a.m., when some residents first heard a loud bang, then within seconds realized there was fire and smoke in the street: a car was completely engulfed in flames. The alarm was raised immediately, and firefighters from the Oristano provincial command arrived on the scene and worked extensively to put out the blaze. The area was immediately secured and cleared, and investigations began to determine the origin of the fire. During their investigations, firefighters found important evidence and traces proving the fire was started intentionally.

The Carabinieri also intervened in Via Carso and began an investigation to shed full light on the incident.
