Four years after the opening of the construction site, the Intermodal Center was inaugurated in Oristano : an interchange pole between road and rail intended to integrate public transport by train with that by bus.

The work, financed in 2008 with the Action and Cohesion Plan of the Region for an amount of 4 million 75 thousand euros, consists of a central courtyard with a waiting room, a large car park for means of transport, taxis and to private individuals, and of a tunnel that connects the area with the railway station in Piazza Hungary.

For the transfer of the Arst buses and the simultaneous closure of the station in via Cagliari, we will have to wait until the end of the month .

The mayor Massimiliano Sanna and the councilor for urban planning Ivano Cuccu are satisfied. "It's a very important milestone," they said. For the regional transport councilor Antonio Moro, "a strategic work for the whole of Sardinia".
