The investigation into the violation of electoral regulations does not stop, indeed it continues faster than ever to shed full light on those pre-electoral promises that last winter, just before the Regionals, echoed in the Oristano environment.
The Prosecutor's Office has entered 15 people in the register of suspects: all of them are apparently involved in various capacities in that system which, according to investigators, was set up by Maria Immacolata Orrù, a 61-year-old from Sassari, to try to recover votes in favor of her husband Gian Carlo Serra, a candidate at the time on the UDC list in the Oristano constituency.
The investigations of the men of the Digos, led by the director Federica Sanna, had started over a year ago when the meetings and electoral meetings were daily . Among the various appointments, those promoted by Maria Immacolata Orrù did not go unnoticed, who always called together people in need and looking for work. An ideal target, according to the investigators, on which to leverage to snatch a vote in exchange for the promise of a job. And the 61-year-old would have gone further, guaranteeing a secure job in the home for the elderly that they were supposed to open in Santa Giusta. Words that, especially in the towns of Oristano, would seem to have had an impact given the consensus obtained by the candidate from Sassari in a constituency that was not his.
According to the prosecutor, the woman had set up a network of collaborators who helped her organize the meetings; in the end, after searches, wiretaps and checks, 15 people were investigated. But the investigation is not closed and there could be further developments in the coming days.
