Oristano and its province: 2.5 tons of drugs seized in one year
The numbers of the provincial weapon on the occasion of the anniversary of the foundation. In one year, crimes down by 5% and 350 people sanctioned for violating Covid regulations

In recent months, 2.5 tons of drugs have been seized in the province of Oristano. And, again for crimes related to drug trafficking and drug dealing, 33 people ended up in handcuffs , while 74 were reported and another 56 reported.
Overall, however, crimes in the province fell by 5% compared to the previous year.
These are the numbers in the balance sheet of the activity carried out by the carabinieri employed by the provincial command of Oristano , drawn up today by the commander Erasmo Fontana , during the ceremony for the anniversary of the foundation of the Carabinieri .
Civil, military and religious authorities were present, including the bishop of Oristano, monsignor Roberto Carboni , the prefect Fabrizio Stelo and the regional councilor for industry, Anita Pili .
In his speech, the provincial commander wanted to recall the relationship that has always linked the weapon to Sardinia. "In these territories, the Carabiniere has entered the history of communities since 1823 - said Fontana -. The word Carabinieri itself is the emblem of the centuries-old bond so as to find an autonomous declination in the Sardinian language" carabineris "conquering, in fact, a place in the immortal heritage of the culture and populations of the island ".
The commander then illustrated the activity carried out by the Oristano carabinieri in the last year, also focusing on the role of the weapon in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. "I can proudly claim that no carabinieri station remained closed during the pandemic period ", he underlined, adding "for compliance with the containment and mitigation regulations of Covid, a total of over 127 thousand people have been checked , with a finding of violations involving more than one of 350 subjects ".
During the same period, the activity carried out in favor of the elderly or for those who had problems with the procedures for booking vaccination was also important: "At the barracks or at home, the military personnel started vaccination procedures for about 300 subjects and enabled over 100 health cards also becoming an unprecedented link between community and health authorities, facilitating dialogue and relationships ".
