The Municipality of Oristano has provisionally awarded the works for the construction of the linear park for a total amount of 6 million euros.

The project is part of the East Oristano program , the project for the redevelopment and regeneration of the eastern and southern urban edge of the city along the railway link, better known as the Linear Park. The net amount of tender-based works (excluding VAT) was 3 million 914 thousand euros (3 million 842 thousand euros for works subject to auction discount and 72 thousand euros for safety charges not subject to reductions auction). The works were entrusted through a negotiated procedure without public announcement and 15 economic operators registered on the SardegnaCAT portal and selected by drawing lots were invited to participate. The contract was provisionally awarded to the Consortium of production and labor cooperatives - Cons.Coop. - Cooperative company of Forlì, which offered a discount of 18.105%.

“The linear park is one of the most important works of the East Oristano Program, but also one of the most important and ambitious projects carried out in the city in recent decades that will have a profound impact on the urban and social fabric - specifies the Mayor Massimiliano Sanna -. The park was designed as a large green lung that will run along the entire urban periphery from the Tirso river, near the Silì level crossing to the former municipal slaughterhouse in the industrial area, passing through the railway station area ".

“The works concern a series of spaces identified within the park - adds the Councilor for Public Works Simone Prevete -. The redevelopment of the residual areas of the disused railway park into accessible public spaces, the provision of new cultural and recreational services for different types of users, new parking areas in via Marroccu, via Baracca and via Laconi for the users of the park, the rediscovery of the relationship between the city and the river (public spaces and cycle and pedestrian connections near the village of Silì), between the city and the lagoon (public spaces and sustainable mobility within the industrial area) and between the city and the gulf (recovery and re-functionalization of disused railway spaces in the industrial area and the port) ".
