The renovation work on the former town hall has been completed in Orgosolo. The structure, closed for decades, reopens its doors with a new look. The old Town Hall - which during the period of the Pratobello revolt or when the Gennargentu National Park, which was never built, was being discussed, hosted fiery municipal councils - will now be a place for sharing experiences and activities . On its façade stands the mural by Francesco del Casino , on which are printed the words that Emilio Lussu , in 1969 during the revolution against the military range, sent to the Orgolese via a telegram: « If I had been in different health conditions you would have been in among you ", wrote the founder of the Sardo D'Azione party.

The building in the heart of Corso Repubblica in the historic center of the town is distributed over four floors : two basement floors used as a tourist office, waiting room and a bookshop; on the remaining floors, a multifunctional room, a laboratory, a training room, a co-working space and a conference room have been set up, with some rooms that will remain available to local associations. The project called Miradas and financed with 1 million and 600 thousand euros from the Ministry of Culture as part of the Pnrr Bando Borghi, sees the Egyptian Museum of Turin and the European Institute of Design of Cagliari as partners.

«I am very happy to return this structure to the citizens which constitutes an important opportunity for the development of new activities and services linked to the economic, social, tourist and cultural promotion of our territory - said the mayor Pasquale Mereu - During the construction of the we involved the public and private sectors in the project. In fact, we are supported by partners of great national importance such as the Egyptian Museum of Turin, the IED and others with the aim of offering solutions of social and cultural value for the community of Orgosolo".
