Just one more letter, but that makes the mistake decidedly particular and funny. This is what happened today for the fifteenth edition of the Mezza Maratona della Ceramica, which took place in Assemini starting from the Coghinas field. An event that saw great participation, also for the five-kilometer “Stracittadina – Non competitiva”, but which in the competitive race saw a series of typos in the bibs. Which, especially in one case, sparked great hilarity among the participants and all the people who noticed it (both on site and in the immediate diffusion on social media) .

The most obvious one is the extra “n” between the “i” and the “c” in the word “ceramica”, which gave it a completely different meaning. And there is no need for further explanations . But not only that, because the bib also indicated the edition in Roman numerals, with a further error: this morning's was the fifteenth (XV), but in reality it appeared thirteenth (XIII^, moreover with the ordinal symbol that should not be inserted in Roman numerals). "It was a mistake by whoever printed the bibs, an external company: something evidently went wrong during the printing phase" , explained Mauro Tronci, president of the Assemini Podistico Group that organized the event. But for his part, his reaction to what happened was with a smile: "It wasn't our fault, but we certainly weren't angry", he added . "On the contrary: we joked about it and maybe this mistake will give us more visibility. Whoever printed the bibs made an oversight, I didn't even notice: some people only realized it at the end of the race."

For the record, the winners of the Ceramics Half Marathon were two athletes from Cus Cagliari: among the women, an absolute excellence in the discipline like Claudia Pinna, among the men Federico Ortu. "The event went beyond our expectations, a beautiful day with many participants not only at a competitive level but also in the recreational walking: this makes us very happy", commented Tronci. The event, which also had a sustainable commitment with the choice of not using plastic, was dedicated to the memory of Michele Murenu, an athlete from Assemini who died at the age of 24 in August in a tragic road accident in Santadi while carrying out his work as a forester .
