The Public Prosecutor of the Tempio Court, Gregorio Capasso, boarded the Anteo ship of the Navy last week, with the investigative staff of the Olbia Coast Guard, to continue the search for the body, which had been identified lying on the seabed at 89 meters. Due to the prohibitive weather conditions it was not possible to proceed with the recovery operations.
An intervention that was carried out yesterday by the underwater operational group of Com.Sub.In: the divers recovered the body, at 9pm, at 89 meters of depth and transferred it onto the CP273 patrol boat of the Coast Guard which proceeded with the transfer to the port .
The sailor's body was initially taken to the cemetery in Olbia and then transferred to the institute of forensic medicine in Sassari: the tests will have to clarify the causes of death. The Senegalese was below deck at the time of the crash, from which the captain of the fishing vessel escaped almost unscathed.
