During a stakeout, as part of the services put in place by the Olbia Police to prevent and suppress thefts against tourists, the agents witnessed one of these episodes. In via Escrivà, two people arrived aboard a van and, having removed the safety blocks, they took possession of two bicycles worth a total of 8 thousand euros, placed on a parked camper.

The intervention of the steering wheel was immediate. One of the two thieves was arrested for aggravated theft in competition, while the other, a minor, was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Sassari Juvenile Court.

The Tempio Pausania judge validated the arrest and applied the precautionary measure of the ban on staying in Olbia, despite the man being a resident of the town.

The van was impounded: in addition to being equipped with tinted windows, it was found to have no seats, probably removed to comfortably accommodate large stolen goods.

The two bicycles were returned to the owners, two tourists of German nationality.
