From today until Sunday 24th Olaf McKay, elected last June as Mayor of Valletta, is in Cagliari for a mission that aims to establish relationships with Sardinian institutions and businesses. The initiative aims to open new channels of dialogue in the fields of culture, education and twinning, as well as promoting events and meetings dedicated to entrepreneurs. It therefore represents an important opportunity to consolidate strategic ties and stimulate economic and cultural growth between Malta and Sardinia.
McKay, accompanied by his personal secretary Gabriella Agius and the Maltese accountant Arthur Douglas Turner, said: «The visit could lead to cultural collaboration, projects and exchanges for young people. Together we can celebrate our traditions, promote sustainable tourism and strengthen the historical ties between our communities. Culture is certainly a bridge that unites us». Among his meetings are those with the representatives of the main trade associations, including Confcommercio, Confesercenti and Coldiretti. But also representatives, entrepreneurs, artisans and producers of the business world of the Island. Among the institutional visits, the one with the President of the Regional Council, Piero Comandini, stands out .
«This mission marks the first step towards a collaboration that can become profitable for our Island in various aspects» , explain the promoters of the project, the law firm BLegal and the accounting firm Galizia & Pinna Associati, who have been involved for years in creating relationships at an international level.
