"The statements recently circulated about the Redentore are serious in tone and inconsistent in content." Culture Councilor Natascia Demurtas weighs in on the political dispute surrounding the festival's planning, rejecting accusations of a lack of transparency and alleged "copy-and-paste."
"Talking about decisions made in 'secret rooms' fuels a false representation of the Administration's work," she states, specifying that the meetings were held "in institutional settings, in a public and transparent manner." Regarding the program, the councilor clarifies: "There is no 'copy and paste': only a guiding resolution was adopted to participate in a regional call for proposals, with a project still in the development phase."
Demurtas recalls that the Redentore project "didn't just start today," but was launched in 2025 with the involvement of local associations and continued in 2026 with participatory meetings. "The document is still under construction, open to additions," he adds, calling for "serious, traceable, and participatory work." "The Redentore is an event that defines the city's identity and cannot be reduced to mere polemics," he concludes.
This morning, the vice president of the Culture Committee and opposition councilor, Antonello Cucca, attacked the councilor, calling her "lack of vision, having ignored the committee's work," and a "copy-and-paste" approach to programming. The chair of the Culture Committee, Paola Siotto, a member of the majority, also resigned shortly thereafter, citing a "different vision of Nuoro's cultural policies."
