Fatal accident this afternoon in Piscinas along state road 293 at the entrance to the town.

A 43-year-old man , Matteo Cossu , born in Carbonia but resident in Piscinas, died after his car, a Punto, went off the road and overturned at the end of the race.

According to the reconstruction, the man was crushed inside the wreckage : the rescue efforts, though timely, were in vain. The 118 team, arriving on the scene, could only confirm his death.

Cossu was alone in the vehicle; no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The Carabinieri of Carbonia intervened on site to carry out surveys.
