He spied on his ex-partner, even using technological devices to monitor her every move, and threatened to kill her. On August 15th, in Ittiri, the Carabinieri arrested a man in flagrante delicto, believed to be responsible for stalking his ex-partner.
The military's intervention was prompted by the victim's plea for help. The investigation uncovered a series of harassing and obsessively controlling behaviors the man had engaged in during their romantic relationship, which lasted approximately 14 months .
Repeated bullying behavior was discovered, such as searching the woman's cell phone , including through the unauthorized installation of apps for remote management and control of the device, hiding a GPS tracker inside the woman's car, and systematically stealing her personal documents and vehicle keys during arguments, simply to prevent her from leaving.
All of this behavior, along with multiple death threats, caused the victim severe anxiety and fear for his safety. By order of the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office , which is coordinating and directing the investigation, the arrested man was taken to Bancali prison, pending a sentencing hearing.
