Even the municipal area of Nughedu San Nicolò was not spared from the plague of fires. A fire, in fact, affected the area under Monte Pirastru.
A story that made the mayor of the small town of Monte Acuto, Michele Carboni, go all over the place: «The fire set is not just a crime - these are his words -, but a real declaration of war on an entire community. It is a cowardly and petty gesture perpetrated by those who deserve fate to turn their backs on them once and for all. This is why it is necessary that each of us does our part, supervising, monitoring and reporting any suspicious attitude to the competent authorities, at all times. We cannot allow lives to be put at risk again as they try to destroy us."
To strengthen the fight against fires, the City Council has decided to allocate 20,000 euros to the barrage company. "The barrage company - reads the resolution -, equipped with personnel of proven professional ability under the operational aspect and knowledge of the territory, as every year, has set up an emergency team and a patrol service, carried out by number two / three patrols, consisting of two units each, equipped with binoculars and mobile phone as part of the fire service of the 2023 campaign".
