All acquitted for the alleged exchange of favors and the alleged controlled contracts by the Municipality of Palau . The former mayor Francesco Pala and his deputy, Maria Teresa Pes, were cleared by Tempio's magistrate, Marco Conti.

They were arrested by the Guardia di Finanza in 2017 and forced to resign. Prosecutor Mauro Lavra had also asked for acquittal.

The defense, Giovanni Azzena, Gerolamo and Filippo Orecchioni commented: «A long period of suffering has ended».

Also acquitted were Norma Rinaldi, Mauro Piga, Mauro Barbato, the municipal secretary Graziella Petta and the entrepreneurs Marco Piras and Massimiliano Pirrigheddu.
